Providence Health & Services Health Information Management Representative in Missoula, Montana

Description:

Providence is calling a Health Information Management Representative (Health Information Management, Days, 1.0 FTE) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Manage information specific to her/her role by providing timely input; by using and transmitting information in print, verbal and document forms appropriate to job tasks.

  • Respond to patients who arrive in the Department with a variety of requests; maintain Federal Privacy Rules, work closely with the medical staff to help manage their incomplete records, and respond to requests for patient information that are received from all areas of the hospital.

  • Retrieve charts and chart track within Meditech as requested. Handles assembly process for all patient types, processes requests for supplies, and uncoded list and retrieval of charts coding team.

  • Maintain productivity standards and accuracy rates and utilizes time efficiently.

  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of data and information used in the performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.

  • Review all records for accuracy and completeness prior to sending the charts to permanent file.

  • In light work situations, consults Director for additional assignments or independently seeks tasks needed to be done.

  • Cross trained in all areas of the Representative Team which include such areas as inpatient assembly, inpatient analysis, outpatient assembly and analysis, release of information, microfilming, Occupational Health Services, Medical Staff Committee requests and filing.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.

  • Previous healthcare experience.

  • Demonstrated application of hospitality skills in any service field.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree in Business school with emphasis on secretarial skills and office work.
