St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Pharmacy Analyst (340B) in Mission Viejo, California

We are looking for a Pharmacy Analyst (340B) for the Pharmacy Department at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.

Location: Primarily Mission Viejo, CA with the occasional need to float to Laguna Beach, CA (Remote work is available)

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days (Variable)

Job Summary:

The 340B Analyst, under the direction and supervision of the Operations Manager, assists in monitoring, auditing, managing, maintaining, and implementing of pharmacy 340B programs. The 340B Analyst works in conjunction with information technology and pharmacy vendors in accordance to hospital, departmental policies and state and federal laws. The 340B Analyst is responsible for performing 340B compliance and financial auditing. The analyst must possess and maintain in-depth working knowledge of the 340B program, pharmacy IT applications, and pharmacy operations. Analyst leads the implementation, maintenance and compliance monitoring of the 340B drug purchasing program. Responsible for monthly reporting on savings opportunities, split billing software maintenance and all areas of program compliance. Leads the ongoing development and implementation of the organization’s 340B drug purchasing program. Monitors and maintains 340B splitting software to facilitate accurate utilization of the 340B program. Work options to include working remotely across multiple ministries.

  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy, including but not limited to, California State Board of Pharmacy, HRSA, DEA, CMS, CDPH, and TJC.

  • Ability to use decisive judgment under minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated aptitude in math and knowledge of pharmacy/medical terminology

  • Ability to process and review large volumes of information daily with a high level of accuracy. Uses data to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot the multiple complexities of pharmacy charging and billing systems.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED


  • Two (2) years experience relevant to data analysis and administration of 340B programs.

Licenses/Certifications: Currently licensed as a pharmacy technician in the state of California.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education: Completion of Apexus 340B University in past 2 years

Experience: Documented experience administering 340B programs using Epic and MacroHelix data systems.
