We are looking for a Receiving/Distribution Clerk with Central Services - MV Department at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.
Location: Mission Viejo
Schedule: Full-time 80 Biweekly Hour
Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift
As part of the team, is responsible for the distribution and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment to point-of-care locations throughout the campus independently or with indirect supervision. Using automated systems as tools, performs physical inventories on regular intervals, replenishes and rotates stock, facilitates complete capture of patient account charges, adjusts supply par levels as appropriate in concert with supervisor and manager, and keeps point of care supply areas organized. Makes recommendations for improvement. Responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning of the central supply and equipment inventories, and responds to customer supply orders for special items throughout the shift. Acts as resource for less experienced staff. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.
Verbal and written communication skills adequate for regular effective contact with peers, hospital staff, vendors, and other contracts.
Knowledge of basic healthcare structure, medical terminology, product specifications & use, and materials organization. Basic level financial (patient charging) concepts. Organizational and interpersonal skills adequate to facilitate problem solving.
Must be able to evaluate requests for services, set appropriate priorities, and communicate priorities to peers and customers tactfully but effectively in order to maintain positive working relationships and confidence from customer areas.
Must be proficient in required competencies upon completion or orientation as listed on the unit specific Competency Inventory (if applicable).
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Three plus years as Medical Supply Specialist I or equivalent or demonstrated command of product specifications & use, and materials organization.
Preferred Position Requirements:
Education: Some community college.
Experience: Meditech computer experience
