Covenant Health is seeking a full time Nurse Instructor with the School of Nursing at Covenant Medical Center.
The instructor is a Professional Registered Nurse who facilitates student learning in theoretical, laboratory, and clinical aspects of nursing. Instructors participate in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. Requires minimal supervision.
Supervises students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
Implements teaching strategies to facilitate student learning in theoretical and clinical aspects of the course.
Prepares materials for each assigned course according to school guidelines.
Develops student evaluation methodology according to school criteria.
Demonstrates and maintains clinical competence in the area of expertise.
Assists in developing and implementing the philosophy and objectives of the entire curriculum and assigned courses.
Participates in formulating educational policies of the School of Nursing through active participation In the Faculty Organization and at least one Faculty Organization Standing Committee.
Contributes to program evaluation through utilization of the systematic evaluation plan.
Maintains awareness of current issues affecting the nursing profession and health care.
Serves as a professional role model for students, staff and the community
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing
Ph.D. required for Nursing Instructor IV position or equivalent educ/experience
*Education/Experience Equivalencies - DNP or EdD.
Experience : 2 years Clinical experience with adequate practice to assure competency in the area of instruction
Licenses and Certifications:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Texas
BLS achieved within 30 (thirty) days of employment
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Experience: Experience in teaching.
