St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Neuro Technologist - Full time - Days in Lubbock, Texas

Covenant Health is seeking a full time Senior Neuro Technologist with the Neuro Diag-LS Department at Covenant Medical Center.

Job Summary:

Performs neurodiagnostic testing including Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV), and Intra-Operative Neurophysiological Monitoring. With limited supervision (Note: Trainees must be directly supervised by a senior technologist).

Essential Functions:

  • Performs neurodiagnostic testing including, Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV), and Intra-Operative Neurological Monitoring in accordance with Association of Electroencephalography (AEEG) or correlating professional organization.

  • EEG: Recognizes patterns of significance and alerts physician accordingly.

  • EP: Performs analysis, maintains storage of records, and retrieves data as required.

  • NCV: Obtains clear and accurate take-off and amplitude according to physician's instructions.

  • Intra-Operative Neurophysiological Monitoring: Understands neuro-anatomical structures at risk and applies trouble-shooting skills toward resolution and efficient assessment.

  • Performs established infection control procedures on equipment and when applying electrodes

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED


  • 1 year experience in hospital setting or an allied health field.

  • 2 years experience as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training.

  • ABRET-American Board of Registered Electroencephalographic Technology

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree - Technologist trainees or equivalent educ/experience

Continued education involving the basic sciences, AND 1 year experience in hospital setting or an allied health field.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Successful completion and registration in one or more of the following: EEG, EP, and NCV.

  • Certification or eligible to take the CNIM Certification examination.
