Covenant Health is seeking a full time, day shift Manager, Sterile Processing with the Instrument Room at Covenant Medical Center.

Plans, supervises, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care, the performance of assigned staff, and unit management 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, for designated clinical area(s). Works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure continuity of care across the continuum. Minimal supervision required.
Responsible for all identified outcome measures as denoted on Performance Assessment.
Demonstrates knowledge, judgment and organizational abilities to meet the needs of patients served.
Sets expectations, develops plans, and manages the process to assess, improve, and maintain the quality of the organization's governance, management, clinical, and support activities.
Assumes responsibility for determining staff competency through on-going evaluation of performance.
Maintains a responsible attitude toward appropriate and efficient management within the department.
Assures that patient care services are appropriately integrated throughout the organization.
Facilitates staff attendance at meetings.
Supports and monitors an appropriate and efficient cost containment program.
Maintains a committed and cooperative attitude with all departments in the organization.
Meets all expectations of RN Staff position description.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Central Sterile Processing degree/Diploma within 1 year of hire.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Science Degree: Science, Microbiology, Business, or Nursing preferred within 3 years of hire.
3 years of varied and complex surgical experience.
3 years of progressive management accountability.
3 years of varied and complex surgical instrument experience.
2 years Work experience in an operating room or reprocessing setting necessary to acquire a working knowledge of medical terminology, surgical supplies and instrumentation.
Candidates must meet the criteria to sit for the NCLEX examination and become licensed in the State of Texas.
BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of employment.
Certification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Accredited Surgical Tech degree/Diploma
Experience with staff scheduling and time and attendance.
Current license to practice professional nursing from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
Specialty certification related to practice.
ACLS &/or PALS.
