St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomy - Full-time in Lubbock, Texas

This posting serves to establish interested candidates for current open positions at the following locations: Covenant Health Plus and Covenant Southwest Medical Park.

The work hours of the position will vary depending on the location.

In this position you will:

  • Performs limited collection procedures ensuring proper identification of patient and proper venipuncture procedure.

  • Performs urinalysis testing under the supervision of the section supervisor

  • Performs processing of specimens and blood products including blood release in Hematology, Chemistry, and Blood Bank under the supervision of the section supervisor.

  • Assists in the set up of Microbiology cultures and performs limited testing in Microbiology under the supervision of the section supervisor.

  • Receives and accurately processes all patient specimens.

  • Researches new reference laboratory tests for specimen requirements, turnaround times and charges.

  • Editing of laboratory requisitions for correct billing and reporting information.

  • Slotting of all patient reports.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education : H.S. Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Laboratory experience.

  • Phlebotomy experience.

  • Medical Terminology.

  • Computer experience to include Windows Excel and Word.
