St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Community Outreach Family and Play Therapist in Lubbock, Texas

Covenant Health is seeking an full time Community Outreach Family and Play Therapist with the CHO Counseling Department at Covenant Medical Center.

Job Summary:

The Community Health Outreach Mental Health Counselor provides mental health/wellness counseling services to the Lubbock community.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides quality mental health counseling as recognized by the American Counseling Association standards.

  • Provides appropriate intervention in crisis situations.

  • Develops a short-term, solution-based treatment plan.

  • Participates with the treatment team in determining appropriate client care and treatment planning.

  • Assists in training and supervision of practicum and counselor intern students and counselors-in-training.

  • Works well, and in cooperative manner, with individuals, groups and agencies regarding mental health strategies and interventions in the Lubbock community.

  • Obtains and distributes appropriate materials to clients, families, groups, and agencies that promote community mental health

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education : Master's Degree - Behavioral Health Clinical Field: Community Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy

Experience : 1 year experience in direct delivery of counseling services.

Licenses and Certifications : Current licensure or working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker with Accredited Clinical Practitioner status, or Marriage and Family Therapist
