Shift Details : Full time, 1.0 FTE, 8 hour day shift. Mon - Fri

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years Clerical and medical work experience.

  • 2 years Chemotherapy Treatment Scheduler: Clerical and medical work experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Chemotherapy Treatment Scheduler: Oncology experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Scheduler KC you will schedule follow-up visits, diagnostic testing and procedures, hospital procedures and hospital admission/emergency room treatment.

  • Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.

  • Understand, embrace, and instill the Kadlec Clinic Guiding Principles.

  • Schedule patient appointments by telephone. Types initial (unverified) patient demographics into the computer system.

  • Schedule same day visits for patients by coordinating insurance verification/eligibility with the appropriate reimbursement specialist and obtaining medical record chart and required documentation, e.g., fee ticket.

  • Schedule pace maker checks coordinating the presence of manufacturing representative and physician.

  • Hematology/Oncology Specific Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes but is not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, oncology nurses, medical assistants, research coordinators, and other allied health professionals.

  • Schedule follow up appointments, labs, injections, and infusion unit appointments for patients receiving treatment in the infusion unit.

  • Communicate with the providers regarding treatment start dates and schedule adjustments, the registered nurses regarding appointment space, and the pharmacy regarding medication availability.

  • Review physician chart notes and complex chemotherapy order sets, determining the cycle dates, lengths, and patterns under the supervision of the registered nurse and prescribing provider.

  • Utilize the Chemotherapy/Biotherapy workflow booklet to provide accurate scheduling of treatment cycles.

  • Coordinate treatment visits with the billing department to ensure insurance verification and eligibility before scheduling treatments.

  • Review the infusion unit chair schedule two days in advance to ensure patients are scheduled correctly, and their future treatment schedules are continued for future cycles.

  • Collaborate with offsite facilities such as radiation oncology if their treatments include concurrent therapy services.

  • Document all patient interactions.
