Providence is calling a Principal Data Governance KPI and Metadata Management Analyst PSJH to our location in Renton, WA; Portland, OR; Irvine, CA or Beaverton, OR.

We are seeking a Principal Data Governance KPI and Metadata Management Analyst PSJH who will elevate Providence St Joseph Health data assets, standards, data quality and master data consistent with the enterprise data governance framework and operating model in support of strategic analytic priorities. The Principal Analyst will partner with all business stakeholders, analysts, architects and technology solutions providers to inventory, document and drive adoption of enterprise data assets, business and technical metadata and lineage. This position requires a strong business acumen and technical skills to develop and implement data governance processes, best practices and tools.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Leverage analytics and collaborate with business stakeholders to understand current and future data needs. Discovery and documentation of stewardship, key metrics, business term curation, reference data management and reporting lineage. Develop and promote standard definitions, workflows and data governance best practices to accelerate growth and use of business glossary.
Engage with technical stewards to map relevant data sources and relationships to business assets. Identify and facilitate cataloging of technical assets and foster stewardship of data in our technology teams. Review technical tools and vendor products for data governance capabilities.
Partner with and advance master data management initiatives and solutions to promote data assets which make optimal use of information, tools, and technology.
Embed with Healthcare Intelligence project teams to facilitate standards gap analysis and recommend activities to improve processes and information quality and facilitate adoption by production support teams.
Effectively educate partners throughout the organization on the benefits of data governance and on methodology, processes and tools.
Recommend solutions to demonstrate data governance activities which measure and drive improvement in the data governance program effectiveness.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Clinical, Informatics or other Business discipline or equivalent education/experience.
10 years healthcare data management and analytics solutions project work in patient data and other domains.
10 years demonstrated ability to express data solutions through effective documentation and communication and to apply data solutions to solve business problems.
8 years demonstrated in-depth experience utilizing patient data domain.
3 years experience with large-scale structured and unstructured data and analytics.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Independence in utilizing data warehouse and data lake query tools (SQL Server, Oracle, HUE) for discovery.
Experience with data governance and quality tools: Informatica, Collibra or other tools for metadata management strongly desired.
Deep knowledge of healthcare and EMR data. Proficiency with EPIC , Cogito and Clarity data and metrics across all types of care delivery desired.
Competence in data visualization using business intelligence tools: Power BI, Tableau a plus.Master's Degree in Computer Science, Clinical, Informatics or other Business discipline.
5 years experience working closely with executive team members.
3 years participation and active role in a data standardization program.
