JOB SUMMARY :

Role andResponsibilities:

The Major Gifts Officer reports to the Director of Major Gifts and will serve as a strategist for individual and major gift development prospects with a focus on identified fundraising priorities, service lines, or research areas. This position plays a key role in meeting the fundraising goals of the Memorial Foundation through physician engagement, volunteer and donor management. The Officer will successfully grow and manage a major gift portfolio of prospects to meet assigned goals and objectives for the Foundation. He/she will be expected to make face-to-face visits and deliver a minimum number of proposals annually. Will work with clinical leadership and colleagues to identify and qualify prospective donors, make qualification calls and discovery visits to build a pipeline of prospects capable of making gifts of $25,000 and above. This position will develop and implement gift strategies and solicitations, ensure accurate gift processing, create and manage individual stewardship plans and develop appropriate engagement opportunities. As part of engagement efforts, the Officer will be responsible for initiating appropriate contact and developing meaningful events for donors and prospective donors to showcase unique opportunities for support. The Officer will be responsible for tracking progress and results utilizing prospect management guidelines and the Raiser’s Edge fundraising database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of major gift experience in a large organization, especially in higher education and/or a medical center or medical research environment, with a track record of successful major gift solicitation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Education:

Master’s degree and experience in comprehensive fundraising campaigns preferred

License/Certification:

Certified Fun Raising Execute (CFRE)
