We are looking for an Environmental Services Worker with the Environmental Services Department at St. Jude Medical Center
Role and Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision of Environmental Services Supervisor cleans and services building Areas according to established schedules, policies and procedures. Performs a variety of Environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition.
Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with complete confidentiality and security. EVS staff shall not have access to any PHI other than incidental information posted on the door, white board, or bulletin board in the patient’s room (i.e. intake/output records, etc.) encountered during room cleaning and maintenance.
Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.
Experience: Previous Housekeeping/Janitorial type experience. Job related experience in hospital or health care environment.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions given in English
Ability to use various types of cleaning equipment (i.e. mop, vacuum, buffer, high duster, extractor, scrubber).
Ability to set priorities, adapt to changing conditions and frequent interruptions. Telephone skills.
