Providence Health & Services Supervisor Anesthesia Technician in Everett, Washington


Providence is calling a Supervisor Anesthesia Technician (1.0 FTE, Day Shift ) to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

Supervises assigned staff and participates in the operation of the Perioperative and Interventional Services Department/Unit. Implements department services to meet or exceed targets for quality, productivity and budget. Provides advanced clinical expertise, supervision, consultation and support for Anesthesia Technical Services for patients in all sites (6) where Anesthetic Procedures are performed- for patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatrics, in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care and practice. Participates in the selection, orientation, supervision and evaluation of employees and assists with initiation/implementation of disciplinary actions as required according to organizational policies, procedures and protocols.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.

  • Restocks and sets up anesthesia equipment in the 2 Surgical sites, 2 PACU sites, GI Lab and Labor/Delivery suites, including restocking items used by Anesthesiologist; syringes, needles, non-controlled drugs, respiratory equipment and other miscellaneous items

  • May assist with procedures that are within the scope of Technicians practice and training as identified in ASATT guidelines.

  • Maintains records, and assists in determining anesthesia equipment needs.

  • Coordinates the timely repair and maintenance of anesthesia equipment.

  • Maintains maintenance and preventive maintenance records for equipment.

  • Gives input to Anesthesiologists for capital budget equipment needs.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • ASATT Certification – Must complete exam within one year of hire.

  • BLS certification.

  • Anesthesia technician training and background.

  • Experience in an acute care facility as an anesthesia technician.

  • Experience in medication administration.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of Anesthesia Technologist Program

  • Previous experience in supervisory role

  • Pharmacy A license
