Providence Insurance Verification Authorization and Customer Support Specialist - Revenue Capture in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling an Insurance Verification Authorization and Customer Support Specialist (Per Diem, Day Shift) to the Revenue Capture Department at Providence Medical Group Northwest Washington in Everett, WA. This is a Per Diem position (Hours are based on department needs. Hours vary from 6am to 5pm, Monday to Friday). This position includes Per Diem pay.
The Insurance Verification and Authorization Specialist is responsible for securing appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance, and medical information, identifying services requiring authorization for treatment and referral information. This role is responsible for adding proper documentation to reflect the work in Epic. In addition, effectively communicate with internal and external customers including medical providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Verification of insurance eligibility.
Ensuring Admission Notification has been completed.
Identifying services and payers requiring authorization and ensuring required authorizations are in place.
Identifying services requiring a referral and ensuring it is in place.
Ensuring Motor Vehicle Accident, Workers Compensation or other Third Party Liability paperwork has been completed.
Process assigned denial work queues timely and accurately
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience
One (1) year of work experience in customer service, hospital billing, or healthcare registration
Clerical and computer experience
Knowledge of CPT and ICD9/ICD10 coding and medical terminology
Experience with MS Outlook, Word and Excel
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Some college level course work
Satisfactory completion of college level Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course
One (1) year of healthcare experience in a hospital or clinical setting, health insurance or medical office
Experience with Epic computer system, One Health Port and MIRA
