Providence Health & Services Counselor - Chemical Dependency in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Chemical Dependency Counselor (Per Diem, Variable Shift) to the Chemical Dependency Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
We are seeking a compassionate and flexible Chemical Dependency Professional to provide counseling to chemically dependent patients and their families.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served: Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.
Conducts individual and group counseling: Facilitates engagement of clients in the treatment and recovery process through implementation of interviewing approaches, documents and assesses clients’ responses to therapeutic intervention.
Observes and documents patients’ treatment progress: Establishes realistic achievable goals with clients to achieve and maintain recovery. Formulates and documents concise, descriptive, and measurable treatment outcomes.
Interviews, evaluates, and develops treatment plans using ASAM criteria: Evaluates and has an understanding of placement criteria for substance abuse, evaluates and has an understanding of ASAM placement criteria for substance abuse within the continuum of care, applies ASAM criteria to documentation in making treatment recommendations.
Recommends modifications to treatment plans: Recognizes and implements strategies appropriate for individualized treatment plans, reviews treatment progress staffing files and supervisor consults.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree - OR - Coursework/Training in Chemical Dependency Counseling
Knowledge of ASAM criteria
Knowledge and application of WAC
Comfortable with diverse client populations
Multidisciplinary team involvement/interactions
Recovering substance abusers must have active involvement in a 12-Step Program and a minimum four years continuous abstinence
Washington State Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health related field
