St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Rad Technologist I in Eureka, California
We are looking for a Rad Tech I - NUHW (National Union of Healthcare Workers) with Diagnostic Imaging - SJE at St. Joseph Hospital Eureka.
Location: Eureka, CA
Schedule: Full Time - 72 biweekly hours
Shift: 12-hour Days (Weekends: Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Under the direction of the Department Director and Radiology Manager and in collaboration with radiologists, the Radiologic Technologist I performs technical diagnostic imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Participates in call schedule to meet staffing needs of the department. Travels to and from off-campus locations to perform radiographic or fluoroscopic procedures when requested.
Reads and interprets written materials such as prescriptions, physician’s orders, policies and procedures, safety regulations, and equipment operating instructions. Interprets a variety of instructions presented in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule format.
Speaks and writes effectively. Writes routine reports, notes and memoranda.
Applies basic arithmetic and algebraic concepts such as proportions, percentages and simple equations with a high degree of accuracy. Routinely calculates changes in radiographic technique factors.
Solves practical problems and deals effectively with situations where only limited standardization exists.
Concentrates on details in a busy and distracting environment.
Basic computer skills related to simple data entry are essential.
- Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association.
Possesses a valid certificate as a Certified Radiologic Technologist in Diagnostic Radiology.
Must obtain Technologist’s Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California within the first six months of employment
Current CPR certification is required.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Experience as a hospital-based radiologic technologist is preferred.
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is desired.
