St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Laboratory Assistant in Eureka, California
We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant I - National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW)with Clinical Laboratory Department at Humboldt County Entities.
Shift: 10 hour, Evening Shift
Under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and the Director of Laboratory Services, the Clinical Lab Assistant I performs routine non-technical, manual, and a moderate amount of technical work in the medical laboratory. Maintains laboratory areas and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition. Carries out related tasks as required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to perform simple calculations.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education: High School graduate or certified equivalency (GED) is Required.
Experience: Previous laboratory, medical office or hospital experience is desirable.
License and Certificate:
Current CPT I issued by the State of California is required.
A valid California Drivers License is preferred.
CPR Certificate is required
