Swedish Health Services Manager, Surgical Services in Edmonds, Washington

Description:

Swedish Edmonds is looking for a Manager, Surgical Services (1.0 FTE, Variables) to work in Surgery at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

Under the supervision of the Director of Surgical and Interventional Services, the Manager Surgical Services is accountable for managing and coordinating quality patient care in a cost-effective manner, complying with patient care standards and job-specific performance standards through observation of clinical practice and implementation of quality assurance. Supervises operating room clinical staff. Manages the professional nursing care for patients in Surgical and procedurals areas.

In this position you will:

  • Support the Performance Improvement process.

  • Follow and support hospital policies. Follow the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

  • Consider individual needs in communication with, assessment of, and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects to include infant through the elderly.

  • Support patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • 3 years progressively responsible nursing management experience (leadership experience such as Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor in an acute care hospital)

  • Current RN licensure by the Washington State Department of Health

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • CNOR and/or CPAN certification
