Swedish Health Services Hyperbaric Technician - Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber in Edmonds, Washington
Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Hyperbaric Technician (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, Washington.
Swedish Edmonds has an opportunity available for a Hyperbaric Technician. The Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the physician/provider on approved patients. You are responsible for the safe and effective operation of hyperbaric oxygen chamber(s) and related support systems.
In this position you will:
Performs a variety of tasks to provide safe and effective hyperbaric oxygen care and treatment consistent with established plan of care, department procedures and standards of practice of certified hyperbaric technicians and health care patient support workers.
Provides patient education and patient care pertaining to the hyperbaric oxygen unit.
Prepares patient for hyperbaric treatment. Keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation.
Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by Physician/Provider and under the supervision of hyperbaric safety officer.
Evaluates equipment/supplies used in the hyperbaric chamber and ensures they meet all safety requirements before they are permitted inside the chamber.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School graduate or equivalency
Successful completion of an Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society and National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology approved hyperbaric medicine introductory course
Current Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT)
Washington State Medical Assistant-Registered is required with Swedish Medical Center Edmonds facility application completed within 7 days of hire.
Must obtain active license within 60 days of hire.
Employee will not be authorized to practice independently until registration is obtained.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
Recent experience providing direct patient care in a health care setting. EMT-B experience will be considered.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One (1) year experience as a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT).
One (1) year experience in wound healing and hyperbaric medicine.
