Providence Health & Services Health Unit Coordinator - Progressive Care Unit in Centralia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Health Unit Coordinator (0.75 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Progressive Care Unit at Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated individual to perform clerical duties and contribute to a smooth functioning, well-equipped unit.

In this position you will:

  • Initiate the patient chart and/or kardexes accurately

  • Maintain patient charts, report stat orders, and keep patient records current under the supervision of the charge nurse

  • Accurately and promptly transcribes physician’s orders

  • File lab and x-ray reports and other appropriate materials in patients’ charts, after review of registered nurse or licensed practical nurse

  • Maintain unit patient log records accurately, completely, and legibly

  • Keep nursing station stocked appropriately as assigned

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Proficiency in medical terminology in order to transcribe physicians’ orders legibly, using correct grammar

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One year recent experience as a Unit Secretary or experience in a similar position

  • Monitor tech skills

  • Proficiency in multiple line phone system and computer skills

  • Cardiac monitorexperience
