Providence Director Foundation Messaging in Burbank, California
Providence is calling a Full Time, Day Shift Director Foundation Messaging to Providence Foundations in Southern CA.
In this position you will:
Ensure that the Southern California Foundations' communications instruments are technically excellent, consistent, persuasive, and sophisticated, deepening the Foundations' relationships with their donors and inspiring philanthropic support.
Be responsible for developing the content strategy for donor communications, including but not limited to: major gift proposals, case statements, campaign materials, presentations, annual giving materials and donor stewardship materials.
Be responsible for the development of the Foundations' media relations materials, including but not limited to press releases, fact sheets, and media alerts.
Supervise a team of two, including the Proposal and Stewardship Officer and the Annual Giving Officer.
Supervises any external agencies that assist with message development.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e., journalism, communications, media studies, etc.)
5 years of professional writing experience.
Demonstrated success in a all aspects of written fundraising communications.
Demonstrated experience working within time-intensive, results-oriented environment.
Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills to develop staff and volunteers.
Able to gracefully address dynamic priorities with sound judgment.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with outside vendors, Foundation staff and hospital staff.
Excellent people skills.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
Five to ten years of professional writing experience, preferably in journalism.
