Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Contracts Consultant to our location in Beaverton, OR.

We are seeking a Contracts Consultant to be responsible for assisting Vendor Contracts Manager with various contracting responsibilities, including those related to vendor and customer contracting. The Contracts Consultant will coordinate compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including insurance and applicable regulatory requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plans, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA"). The Contracts Consultant assists business stakeholders with vendor contract administration. The Contracts Consultant maintains the contract management database, including a system for monitoring notice requirements, term and termination, and ongoing maintenance of vendor and customer contracts. The Contracts Consultant's work impacts the Company's legal, regulatory, contractual, and financial obligations.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure vendor and customer contracts comply with applicable regulatory requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plans, including HIPAA.

  • Ensure vendor contracts comply with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Assist business stakeholders with contract lifecycle management, including routine administration and execution.

  • Help maintain the contract management database, including a system for monitoring notice requirements, term and termination, and ongoing maintenance of vendor and customer contracts.

  • Provide contractual interpretations to Vendor Contracts Manager.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, and Government Affairs department in a manner that fosters effective working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Consult with internal resources as needed to fulfill these duties.

  • Serve in a support role for the Vendor Contracts Manager.

  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent education/experience.

  • 5 years experience with contracting, legal or related department experience including preparation, review, administration, maintenance, and monitoring of contracts and other legal documents; and demonstrating competence and the working knowledge and understanding of contract lifecycle management and the contracting environment.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with database implementation and administrative support.
