Providence Radiology Technician- St. Elias in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Radiology Technician (Radiology, Day Shift, 0.75 FTE) to St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Demonstrate competence in radiology and related procedures
Perform various types of Diagnostic exams
Employ technical skills and knowledge base of specialized equipment, supplies and procedures utilized in the Imaging Department
Observe sterile technique
Document patient care according to established standards of care and according to established guidelines for medical record forms (progress notes, etc.)
Provide and documents patient education according to established guidelines, including food/drug interactions, procedures, etc
Carry out physician orders
Evaluate care in accordance with established standards of conduct for patient populations served
Assure patient needs, comfort, environment and safety are met
Maintain and evaluates patient and staff data collection systems and processes to support the practice of the Imaging service area
Actively participate in planning, monitoring and enforcing radiation safety measures
Plan unit orientation for all new staff members
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Current ARRT registration
Current Alaska license
One (1) year of relevant radiology experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree

St. Elias Specialty Hospital is owned by Providence Health System. The hospital has 59 beds, almost all private rooms. The facility features state of the art equipment to provide extended inpatient acute care for patients.
At St. Elias Specialty Hospital, we provide customized, physician-driven services for patients requiring longer stays in an acute care environment due to multiple or complex medical conditions. We are not a permanent placement for patients; rather we are an answer for many patients who are acutely ill and need to take the first steps towards rehabilitation or home.
