Providence Program Coordinator Community Outreach in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Program Coordinator Community Outreach ( Oncology Support Services , Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Develop a community outreach program that is responsive to the issues described in the community needs assessment. Present plan to manager for approval. Provide input to the development/update of the Community Needs Assessment report.
Establish awareness, prevention, and screening activities that follow nationally accepted, evidenced-based guidelines and interventions. Ensure the appropriate number of events and programs are in place, as directed by the Cancer Committee. Evaluate activities based upon established goals and make adjustments to programs as needed.
Assist with the development and implementation of cancer patient and community stakeholder satisfaction surveys and focus groups to identify barriers to care.
Create and execute multiple cancer screening events annually. Develop budget, establish marketing plan, coordinate volunteers, and ensure all risk, legal, and consent requirements are obtained. Establish for post-event follow-up for findings that have suspicious and/or positive findings.
Work with PAMC Marketing/Communications department and Providence Foundation to promote Cancer Center survivorship and psychosocial programming.
Update at least annually all needed Cancer Center promotional materials.
Write content and develop channels to promote outreach efforts, such as website, social media, print, TV, and PSAs. Track effectiveness of each vehicle.
Create quarterly report summarizing the activities provided, the results of outreach programs, and their effectiveness in the community. Present results to Cancer Center Director, Foundation and Cancer Committee as requested.
Participate on accreditation committees for outreach efforts.
Perform administrative functions including supply orders, meeting planning and coordination (agendas and minutes) as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent educ/experience
2 years experience in event or community programs
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Public health, health literacy, community engagement
2 years previous experience in health-related outreach or community engagement
2 years experience working with senior level management and physicians is a plus
Computer experience: Office 356- Particularly Sharepoint. Website design. Graphic design type applications and social media experience.
