Providence Magnet Coordinator (RN) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an Magnet Coordinator (Nursing Administration, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position, you will:
Leads activities leading to attainment and maintenance of Magnet designation and Pathways to Excellence designation
Provides leadership, coordination, and facilitation for an action plan that leads PAMC to obtain Magnet accreditation and re-accreditation, and Pathways to Excellence designation.
Serves in the role of organizational expert related to the Magnet Model Components, and Pathways to Excellence.
Promotes quality and organizational excellence by leading cross-functional quality and process improvement initiatives.
Facilitates and provides oversight for the preparation of documentation, policies and procedures and research activities related to acquiring and maintaining Magnet and Pathways to Excellence designation.
Provides expert consultation to individuals, departments, and ministries in support of research and Magnet® and Pathways to Excellence-related efforts.
Manages the Magnet and Pathways to Excellence Program budget, ensuring planning, organization, and coordination of human and material resources necessary to support compliance with American Nurses Association Standards of Care and the Standards of Professional Performance and Magnet designation.
Facilitates Magnet and Pathways to Excellence education, caregiver professional development, application development and submission, annual reports, collaboration with nursing leaders and nursing staff, budget development and oversight, internal and external consultation, presentations, and mentoring.
Serves as Magnet and Pathways to Excellence advisor to the nursing leadership team, and within the broader nursing community, as liaison to the ANCC Magnet Office, and to PSJH system-level efforts.
Supports implementation of initiatives by serving on select committees and work groups, and assisting employees charged with implementation of system-wide initiatives.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Current Alaska State RN License
5 years experience in acute care nursing
Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines regarding the conduct of research
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
Experience working in a Magnet-designated facility
Previous success in obtaining Magnet designation and/or re-designation
Success in securing extramural funding for research
Primary authorship of peer-reviewed publications
Experience developing, conducting, and evaluating educational programming
Prior project management experience
Basic computer skills required. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
