Providence High Level Disinfection Technician I in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a High Level Disinfection Technician I ( High Level Disinfection , Variable, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform high level disinfection (HLD) according to manufacturer’s guidelines, hospital policies, and regulatory bodies
Perform HLD quality and assurance testing and notifies the Manager promptly in the event of a failure.
Store scopes according to hospital and department protocols.
Distribute scopes, items and supplies as requested by customers.
Transport and receive clean and/or soiled scopes and equipment in a timely manner following proper transport techniques.
Inspect scopes and scope sets; tags and removes from service damaged and or defective scopes and equipment.
Notify the HLD manager of the damaged or defective scope
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days hire
Certification within 6 months of hire for one of the following (SGNA) Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associated:(GTS) GI Technical Specialist & (AGTS) Advanced Associates Program Certification.
Certification through CBSPD (CFER) required within 18 months of hire.
Experience in sterile processing, high level disinfection areas, operating room, or endoscopy
