St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Revenue Cycle Quality Analyst in Anaheim, California

We are looking for a Revenue Cycle Quality Specialist for the HCS Shared Services Department at Home Care Services.

Location: Anaheim, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for the provision of new employee training, and auditing works with the team supervisor/leadership representative in the development of training curriculum and assists the supervisor in the development of quality and productivity monitoring tools to ensure that adequate outcomes of training are being achieved by the team members.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for the provision of new employee training for all new team members.

• Ensures all necessary tools are available to new employees, bring forward any deficiencies to the supervisory for resolution (long-ins, desk aids, etc).

• Teaches the staff how their role/responsibility connects to the overall department objectives.

• Schedules, organizes and conducts the training and orientation of new hires.

• Assists in developing and conducting a cross-training program for existing staff, ensuring that each staff person can perform their primary and secondary roles.

Works with the team supervisor/leadership representative in the development of training curriculum.

• Assists with the ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures related to the function performed by the team.

• Assists with the development of new employee training checklist and schedule.

• Develops, maintains and utilizes current training documentation, forms, and processes. Provides appropriate copies for supervisor and/r employee file.

Works with the supervisor in the development of quality and productivity monitoring tools to ensure that adequate outcomes of training are being achieved by the team members.

• Assists in the development and utilization of appropriate activity reporting to summarize department, group, and individual productivity.

• Provides consistent feedback on productivity and quality standards to supervisors.

• Recommends additional training needs and cross training of individuals.

• Meets regularly with the supervisor to review all pertinent information.

Identifies ongoing training needs and works with the supervisor to ensure all staff receive the appropriate training and/or information.

Ensures all changes to processes and procedures are adequately communicated and documented.

• Assists supervisor in developing the appropriate communication to other teams as necessary.

• Ensures that any changes are added to existing documentation or forwarded to the appropriate person for inclusion or development for standing department documentation.

• Meets on a regular basis with team trainers to review office-wide procedure changes and prepares adequate communication, education and documentation of the impact of his/her respective team.

Serves as the "go-to" for questions from team members in the absence of the supervisor and as appropriate for daily questions.

Performs other work-related duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Works with the supervisor to incorporate creativity, planning "fun" training events to enhance the work environment, celebrate the accomplishments of goals, and positively impact the esprit de corps.

Demonstrates hands-on (roll-up-sleeves) expertise.

• Sits with and observes staff, regularly, to learn the detail behind their work.

• Sets aside time for "open door" conversation.

• Promotes teamwork and assists in the planning and delivery of appropriate team building exercises.

Key Challenges:

• Updates own skills and knowledge of system to be an effective trainer.

• Recognize and adapt training methods to changing business needs of the staff as well as the changing business needs in health care.

• Support the departments strategic goals through the delivery of appropriate training events and courses offered.

• Maintain knowledge and ability to perform all functions pertaining to the respective team.

• Maintain ongoing modification and delivery of established courses.

• Work independently while maintaining extremely good communication with Supervisors/Managers regarding training, workflow, processes and staff issues.

• Maintain technical knowledge of software applications and a detailed understanding of the requirements of Medicare and Medicaid, Compliance, and other major commercial plans, in a rapidly changing environment.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of insurance industry environment.

  • Understanding of Revenue Codes, ICD-10, CPT, HCPC codes preferred.

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting techniques (debits & credits)

Minimum Position Requirements:

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent educ/experience

Experience: Minimum three (3) years healthcare account management experience, preferable in a hospital setting, health insurance claims processing or medical office.
