Providence Health & Services Director of System Finance PSJH in Alaska
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Director of System Finance PSJH. This position works remotely with occasional travel required to headquarters in Renton, WA. This role is open to candidates residing in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon and California.
Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH), a $26B health system, is seeking a motivated, mission focused, results-driven and enthusiastic Finance Director with deep analytical and business insights expertise, demonstrated Executive Presence, a passion for people development and a keen desire to play an integral role driving financial impact across the organization. System Finance encompasses Shared Services, Financial Planning & Analysis, Strategic Finance, System Enablement (Costing, Insights, Productivity & Benchmarking) and Reimbursement. This position will work closely with the Group Vice President, Financial Planning and Analytics to drive insightful and impactful analysis while also attracting, developing and retaining awesome finance talent. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who can enthusiastically work through ambiguity, proactively solve problems, and drive data-driven insights to inform decision making. The role will report to the Group Vice President, Financial Planning and Analytics and manage a team of 8 to 10 finance professionals. The position is remote with an occasional need to travel to our corporate headquarters just outside of Seattle Washington.
In this position you will:
Provide impactful insights to System initiatives, many times with limited data and direction.
Manage our Finance Development Program, directing a team of 8 rotation analysts.
Increase collaboration between the system finance, operations finance and executive leadership teams.
Serve as a virtual team lead for various impactful system finance initiatives focused on attracting, development and retaining finance talent.
Contribute to the creation of System Finance best practices for planning, forecasting, and analytics.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration or a Bachelor's with commensurate experience.
A minimum of eight years of progressive responsibility in financial planning, business and financial analytics, or equivalent experience.
Proven commitment and a strong passion for investing in people
Demonstrated executive presence with strong oral and written communication skills with a keen ability to distill complex analysis into impactful yet simple and concise stories.
Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, and creating effective business partnerships.
Ability to "think outside the box" and not be hindered by how things have been done in the past, or how things have not been done ever
A sense of humor and ability to bring enthusiasm and optimism to complex business and performance discussions.
Intellectual curiosity to learn when faced with unfamiliar concepts and business areas.
Health Care experience a bonus, though not required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certified Public Accountant
Other certifications such as HFMA or FACHE
